    Default I'm Bleeding!

I have been shaving for a while now and I am definitely nowhere near great at it but neither am I bad. I can get good consistent shaves WTG, and when I'm feelign a little bold I can get pretty successful shaves XTG too, but I am having one problem. There is this one patch of hair/skin on the left side of my chin that I overshaved very badly when I first started, and almost every time I shave I seem to take at least some part of the scar tissue off, no matter how lightly I shave or how long I wait until my next shave. Is it going to be like that forever? Do I just need to wait? Also, I think it is important to mention that the reason it was overshaved in the first place is because this is a very bad problem patch for me, so now not only is the hair extremely coarse and difficult to cut, but now the skin is extremely sensitive it seems. If anyone could offer some sort of suggestion as to what to do about this I would be very grateful, thank you.

Sorry to hear you have been having a problem. I have mole near my right ear that I used to nick almost every time I shaved. The only advice I can give is maybe that you try and change the angle at which you approach the area.
I ended up playing around with coming at the area from different angles and eventually found one or two that did not cut me.

    Hope this is some help.
Good luck with sorting this out.

It is important to keep problem or abused areas well-moistened. This hastens the healing process. Keep the skin in that area as moist as you can.

I have a place on the the right side of my neck just below the jaw line that acts the same way. I have yet to figure out the secret so in the mean time I just give it a few passes and forget about it. Maybe someone will have an answer for both of us, I hope.

I have done the same. I shaved around it with the straight, and then gently shaved that spot with a safety razor until it had time to heal.

    Regards,

Leave it alone as much as possible, neosporin/anti-biotic ointment to keep it moist/supple. Shave only WTG in this area until the skin has returned to its normal state.

    Repeat daily and report results.

give it a blast with a styptic or alum or whathaveyou. then dab on some neosporin and reapply for a day or two. follow up with a skin graft and a liver replacement, just in case.

thank you all for the tips, maybe I wasn't clear though, this is a very old spot that has healed over many times, would you suggest the same as above, or change your suggestions?
