Default 2nd straight razor shave in the books!

Hello everyone, well just got done performing my 2nd straight shave. I must tell you its definately therapy for me haha. Took a hot shower, prepped by brush in some hot water. I then laid some proraso menthol preshave cream as i lathered my proraso red (soothing smell). Covered the face and went to town. I just received this razor from wolfpack34 who cleaned it up for me and honed- sharpened it. I bought it "shave ready" from ebay, which i quickly learned it wasnt. So i sent it to him to get fixed. Man what a difference, he definately left it super sharp. No tugging or razor burn. It cut my stubble flawlessly with a 3 day pass. Still have a problem spot on my neck where the hair grows sideways so i took care of that with a mach3.
I finished up with a cold water splash, some alum and proraso after shave, with some trumper coral skin food. Thanks again WP34!!

I wish they would just ban the use of"Shave Ready" on the bay. It's mostly just a lie to sell , I know some of our members do sell there , but it's hard to know which ones are us,, but if more new guys would start out with a used blade from a member who knows how to hone , their first experience would be a lot better,, good luck another 50- 100 shaves you,lol be there. I agree with the shave ready on sites when they are not! I guess to a person getting into this world of shaving should understand that if a site/retailer does not specifically state they hone the razor prior to shipping then rest assured you are not getting a true shave ready razor.

I still use the 3 shave pass cobra. It takes that many passes to really get every tid bit for sure and then a few times I have to spot shave problem areas. You will find skin stretching to be a very good practice too. I was instructed by two of the best here on the boards to use alum to stretch the skin. You should too because it works!

Congrats on the 2nd shave and many many more to come!

Congratulations, keep at it and it will continue to get easier and more enjoyable. As for the neck, that seems to be a problem area for most. I have a spot on my neck that the hair seems to grow in a spiral. I have to hit that area in three to four different directions to get it clean. Just keep trying different directions and angles and you will eventually find what works for you.
