I buy the washers and nuts but I use a dye to cut my own thread. This gives much more flexibility in lengths. Not to mention a heck of a lot cheaper. One hint if you want to do this yourself. Use a heavy thread cutting oil. Light oil won't float the cutting away as well on these tiny threads.

How does one make sure that the nuts don't back off?

    Thanks,

I haven't as I like taking them apart on sundays for cleaning but locktite would do the trick.

Would locktite be permanent though? I have never used it.

I find that they periodically need tightening, but for the benefits it offers me, it is worth it. Also, they seem to only really "loosen" at all from stropping and honing in my experience. I have the wrenches which make it a lot easier to use. You need to CALL microfasteners to get them. They aren't listed on the site or catalog.

At least one of the locktite products is intended to be permanent (I can't remember the colour). There are various types of locktite depending on the torque spec you intend to use. I'm sure a mechanic will jump in shortly. I've got 2 kinds I use on my car but I haven't ever bought the permanent type just seen it on the shelf.

If I remember right the red loctite is the permanent one, the blue is removeable IMO.

There is red, blue and purple loctite. Red is permanent, blue is medium, purple is the weakest, can be loosened with fingers. I would try the blue.

Wans asking because if you ever sold it the guy that bought it might not like tightening it up all the time. Once you get the right tension and lock tite it down will it stay at the same tension. I like the look of the bolts but pinning it might be better for a sold razor?

    Thanks,
    Richard
