Yes I was going to do anything but cut it. I'll give it a good cleaning and inspection first. Thanks for the great advice as always gents.

Actually... another opinion search. Should I leave the blade the kinda tarnished color or Polish? Character, no character?

The patina does look kinda nice, but its still a user preference.

I would also caution discretion with scraping the rust off. Scratches will be shinier than the patina/bluing.

You can rub it a bit with never dull, after you cut the rust away. It doesn't do too much to the patina. Here's one that I did just that too.

Well I can't seem to control my RAD. Got me another project. Picked up this Wacker Jungmeister 1940. All in all its in pretty decent shape save for the nasty chips on the edge. Time to "hone" my skills at chip repair. See what I did there?

The gold wash was mostly gone on the tang so I unpinned the blade only and cleaned the active rust a bit an repinned. I'm not gonna clean it up much more than that, it's got some good character that I wanna leave. Gonna try and work on the blade tonight, hope I can have it done by tomorrow at the latest.
    Thanks for looking.

Nice looking razor. I've got a Waterville just need to hone it, haven't used 'er yet. I like the collars and pins you have on there... wish I could zoom in... what's the story with those? (Sweet scales too BTW, especially with the patina of the blade)

Their domed, stainless, micro flat washers.

You can get the doming block @ harbor freight, just remember to cut out the 20% off coupon, it makes it like $40.

But you'll want to use a under washer (the itsy bitsy one) so to keep the collars from digging into the scales.

These items can be found at a place called "micro fasteners", but I've been able to get most of it from local hardware stores. Ace to name one.
