Hello, crazyengineer:
That, indeed, is the Fatboy, the slim-handle version it looks like, and if the razor is in the good shape it appears to be in, you've done just fine with your purchase. The Fatboy is a prized razor.

You did just fine at $10, haven't seen one sell for less than $25 on the bay in quite some time in any condition.
cool, i dont think that it is a slim handle, i have a couple of superspeeds and the handle is probably 2x thicker
it works great, and is in good condition
been boiled (out of alcohol) and now being shaved with, thanks everyone for the advice
I have several old Gillettes, and they all shave great.
Here is my safety razor collection. I use them all on occaision, when a real (straight razor) shave is not feasible.

I have no idea what models the three Gillettes are. The Middle razor is my Durham Duplex (also a great shaver). I included it here because it is considered sort of an intermediate stage between straight razors, and the development of true 'safety' razors.
I also have a modern "Mach 4" razor that someone gave me. It sits on a shelf, unused. I have never understood the need for a razor with 4 blades. It doesn't shave anywhere near as good as any of my other razors. It is only slightly better than the cheap, disposable plastic (toy) razors they sell at Walgreens.
I am ashamed to admit it, but I also have a couple of vintage electric razors that I use when I am really pressed for time. They are for Emergency Use Only.
Hello, gigmaster:
If I am not mistaken, the two chrome are Gillette Super Speed flare tips, probably from the 1950s. The gold one looks like the Gillette ball end handle Tech from the 1940s. The straight is used for hair trimming, I would say.
