    Default DE sample pack options?

So I've decided to go with an Edwin Jagger 89 and would like to pick up a "sample pack" of blades with the order. Anyone know of an online source that has a variety of sample packs that i can choose from? Thanks

    Default DE sample pack options

    Hello, Michael:

The following vendors also have sampler packs:

BullGoose, Westcoastshaving and Connought, among some of the other vendors listed here at SRP.

    Regards,

    Obie

Thanks Obie. I looked up bullgoose and got the Ed Jagger 89 and a sample pack consisting of 60 blades. Did not do a lot of research on blades so i hope this sampler covers the better offerings in DE blades.

    PERSONNA (RED IP) 10
    SHARK SUPER CHROME 5
    SHARK STAINLESS 5
    DERBY EXTRA 5
    ASTRA SUPERIOR PLATINUM 5
    GILLETTE SHARP EDGE 5
    TREET PLATINUM 5
    SUPERMAX SUPER STAINLESS 10 ($19.80/ 60 blades)

As I know Obie is going to suggest, the same way back when I started, when you get the razors -- try the Gillette's first. (Green/Yellow pack). You may get hooked on these and look no further for any other blades. I know I did It's a great combo in an DE89L

    Hello, Michael:

    You are welcome.

Your choice of the Edwin Jagger 89 is excellent. That's a favorite of mine. Did you get the lined or the chrome? 89L is the lined.

The blade pack looks good. The Feather is a great blade and one of my preferred blades. The Gillette Sharp Edge (yellow pack) is almost as sharp as the Feather, but I feel it is smoother, and also one of my preferred blades, especially in the Pils.

I also like the Astra and the red Personnas. For me, Astra is a sweet combination with the Edwin Jagger 89. Treet is good, too. Derby is a good utility blade — one blade per shave, for me. Shark has a plus and minus reputation: from what I have read, some people like it and some don't. I don't. It might work for you, though.

So, my dear Michael, it's happy times. Ah, yes, the Gillette Sharp Edge especially will be a pleasant surprise.

    Regards,

    Obie

Thanks for the feedback on the blades. I deciced on the unlined version of the Edwin Jagger. The lined version seems like it might offer better grip but just liked the looks of the 89. I'll try the Gillettes first as another member recommended
