    You can assess your angle when the blade hangs up...

    You can assess your angle when the blade hangs up by dropping the spine lower. If it then cuts easier your angle was too high.

    +1... Only a week in so it's highly likely your prep, lather,technique & stropping are all contributing to less than stellar results.

    To attempt advanced strokes eg. ATG is risky to say the least.
