That can often be the case. Generally speaking, a good knife stone isn't always a good razor stone & vice versa. Depending on its quality the other Nakayama could be a better razor stone but time...

Depends on you. If you want flat nothing beats an Atoma for the price. 1200 for slurry anything lower for lapping.
Paper on glass has "give" and won't give you the same flatness. Loose grit on...

My Nakayama Asagi has a bunch of yake also. Very fast for a polisher.

My Narutaki koppa are one step away from dried mud ie very soft. Must be from Narutaki Quarry rather than Nakayama. Really nice for darkening the Ji on modern swords btw.

2 Yaginoshima Asagi from Hatanaka. Stamps went on first lapping.

Being a Suita it was better as a pre polisher but probably ideal for finishing tools.
It was extremely fine for a Suita.

Nothing can be determined from those pics. Either you trust the seller or you don't.

The names of the stones mean nothing. Their action , everything.
IOW just tell the seller what you want the stone to do.

Wait till you start buying them for no reason other than that they look pretty. Then you know you have a problem.
