Back honing is limited to removing a wire edge...
Back honing is limited to removing a wire edge caused by overhoning or in the extreme case where I would breadknife a razor to remove a serious chip I would follow with some spine leading strokes but...

I only scream after honing a razor for an hour and finding it is still dull.:gaah: I've yet to have the razor scream. :shrug: What occurs to me is a hone that is not flat and/or is of a coarse grit...
