My intent was not criticism but just to point out a potential problem. I chose to use an oil that works both for long and short term storage simply because I don't have to worry about changed plans....

The problem with using olive oil and any other cooking oil is that they are in fact fats and as such over time they break down and can become corrosive.

I use mineral oil for my razors.
