I think that I've figured out part of my problem. When stropping, do you roll the blade over the edge or the tang? I realized today that I've been rolling it over the edge.

I strop my razor 40-50 times before each shave. The strop is narrower than the blade width. I've noticed that the strop seems to be roughed a bit on the right hand side near where the strop hangs...
