People use it all sort of different ways from what I can tell but what I do is after a shower while my face is still damp I put about a quarter size amount in my palm and apply to whole area I shave...

I mix 1 part castor oil to 2 parts olive oil to 3 parts massage oil. Works great and smells great too. :)
