"Shave ready" means that it's been properly honed by someone with the necessary tools and skill, so that you can get the closest and most comfortable shave that your skill level will allow.

My understanding is that razors from TAOS, are rarely if ever shave ready. You'll want to send it to someone to be honed properly.
