Thread: looking for a moss style scuttle.....

there is no way i am paying 40-60$ for some burnt clay
i have looked at the "redneck scuttle" i would do this but the problem i have is there is not exactly a walmart or home depot where im at.....
nothing fancy it just has to work. im tired of filling the sink with water when i could be using the sink for other things besides floating a glass full of shaving cream and a brush

If it is just simple burnt clay, you could make one yourself.

Surely there are flower pots in Korea...

im not saying its that easy but so much stuff is machine made these days....
ohh i have been looking around everytime i think i find something that looks like it may work just doesnt fit....the search continues

What I used to do before I got my Moss was fill a larger bowl with hot water and then float a smaller bowl inside it for the brush. Worked as well, just not as compact or cool looking. Here is a pic from my DE days.

I know this is SRP, but is that a slant Jimmy? I never used one back in my DE days, always seemed a little wicked. Then again now I shave with a mini sword...

One bowl came from Target and the other from Publix supermarket. No more than $5.00 total IIRC.

I bought an excellent scuttle from artisan Robert Becker. It was 26 shipped.
It works excellent. It keeps lather hot for 20 minutes. It is perfect in the fact that i can easily make lather in it as well with a 20mm brush. A bigger brush might have problems being able to make lather in it.

He sells his scuttles under the BIN on ebay. He usually has about 3 per week he
puts up, and they sell fast.

Neat scuttle. I searched "Robert Becker" on ebay and came up with 31 matches...mostly fitness and self-help books, but no scuttles.
