Thank's ekrets,JP5,Dieseld,Steve56, Coachmike it is in fact my intentions to share about how I found this stone and my shock of how much it weighed.
Not sure how it turned to me hyping them to sell. I did say that he did not ship to the U.S.and all the stones I posted pictures were sold and are just to show that they looked like Amakusas. Sorry If you took it that way but I am no salesman.Lol!
No road dirrectly to the quarry is what I stated not the whole town! Only accesible by trail i'm sure most understood that. I dont know where no roads in the whole town came from?
The Chef is actually has two degrees from culinary institutions and has worked at a couple of highend restaurants. Not sure why u talk bad about him? He has some skills!
The rockhound(wild collector)is just a enthusiest just like me and since he had the only three stones from Mexico that I know of I mentioned his opinion about them. He has experience and can compare them.
I actualy tried for this thread not to have a sales pitch vibe and if I failed please excuse me those are my furthest intentions just sharing a story of how I came upon a 57lbs sharpening stone, and my getting as much information on it and sharing with this wonderful group of gentlemen that have given me so much in their sharing of what they know.
    Stay Cool everybody,
    Israel

If I remember correctly, a relative was going to be holding it for you because of the high $hipping. Know about when you'll be able to get it?
Also, even if they are from the same quarry I wouldn't plan on it performing EXACTLY like a stone someone else has. One thing I've learned here is that even the same type of stone from the same quarry can vary greatly (thuringians, JNats, arks, etc). And I would wait until you at least try out the first one before getting any others.

Yes JP5 the guinea pig part was for after, if and only if I like the big one. Only if I find the big one inconvinient realy. My uncle will not be here for another two to three weeks so it will be some time. That is why I asked the seller for pictures to be honest!

Also ekrets is a very respected member here relax a little, reading way too much into this and coming to false conclusions then making false statements. Chill out! All my intentions are good!

Oh yeah, right. Perhaps I should rephrase that to "People found the stone, they tried it out, and it worked well." Kind of figured that was self explanatory. And Toro is not related to the guy selling stones. A relative of Toro's who visited Mexico purchased a stone from him and will later give it to Toro. Need to work on that reading comprehension. Also the cynicism. Have a nice day!

I am very relaxed and chilled out ! I didn't even start to pick the pictures apart or talk about anecdotal evidence based on one chef. I have respect for ekrets and every one else here on this site. He will debate things. Is being a skeptic really being mean ? My opinion every thing that is worth something can stand up to scrutiny. This thread is full of quotes and pictures if I am reading to much into something point it out.

I never said he was kin to anyone selling stones. Next time you see something you can high light the quote. My reading skills or just fine and so is my intuition.

It sounds like some one is about to hype up a stone.
I could go to local businesses walk straight to the flower bed bordered by stones that are already lapped and say dirty Dave and the dead animal meat market swears by these stones. If you are interested they come with free shipping .
It sure looks like your post here is claiming that a member of his family "discovered" the stones - from that I inferred you were saying his family member was the one trying to sell them. Upon your subsequent post and rereading your post in hindsight, I see that it could have been taken in either of two ways - so maybe work on the sentence composition.
