Guys be careful when buying these hones on Ebay, there are A LOT of fakes now with reglued labels and replacement boxes. Buyer beware.

looks like a labeled Escher with BD layering on the bay right now, I just bought a multi layered Hohenzollern or I would be buying it instead of writing about it lol. Is the only way to tell the layering? The label doesn't designate it that I could tell correct?

The ebb and flow of what stones show up on ebay for how much is pretty interesting. Another stone I would be very skeptical of buying of a random person there are those labelled La Lune.

Yes, another tough one to find....but a superb stone, I find it gives a very sharp, almost electrically sharp edge, very surgical in it's crispness IMO, the complete opposite of the sharpness yet buttery smooth edge of an Escher.

Eeh, lunes and special stones often have partial or full side stamps at least and I haven't seen anyone fake one. This is the 2nd biggest slab of special stone I have, you can still see the ex from extra fine bit that's about it. Name: 20180906_165520.jpg

Bought a new Barber's Delight recently. Haven't had one since 2017 when I had to sell it and a few other things to cover an insurance shortfall on a funeral. Partial back label, most of the gelbgrün label intact. Had to seal it. No red box or slurry unfortunately, so I needed to acquire a yellow green fragment for that purpose. Be interesting how it compares to the boxed blue green I have. It's rare I have multiple thuris around to a/b as I tend to gravitate to other things.

I was lucky to stumble into a B/G BD, at a flea market. No box, lable, or slurry stone, and filthy, I wasn't positive of what I had, till I cleaned it up.

Label's are nice but a great stone with no label and dirt cheap is way better. You can't hone on a label. Nice find!
