Thumbs up Thiers Issard factory sharp edge..Really was sharp :)

yesterday I got my new Thiers Issard Le Canadien razor. I have wanted it for some time and when they put the 17% discount on Issard razors I had to jump on it. So I promised myself that I would at least try out the factory edge which they swear is sharp. So without stropping or honing I went at it today. Wow! It really was sharp and smooth. It was among the nicest shaves I have had! I wouldn't call it Lynn Abrams sharp lol, But it was more than enough to get a close, comfortable shave. Just wanted to share it with all of you bye for now

    Nice looking blade!

I shaved off a new TI and it was...serviceable. Actually, they did a pretty good job.
I used it for a few weeks, but was happy after a few licks on an 8K/12K bumped it up.

    Enjoy your razor.

I've gotten some TI with great factory edges and some not. Luck of the draw I guess. My most recent was one of the Le Grelot silverwings that had a killer edge that is still going strong after many shaves. They can do it right when they want to.

Yep, it's hit or miss with them. Out of the box You can get one that shaves very nicely and you can get a stinkeroo or anything in between.

I think in general all the "Factory" edges have stepped up a notch from 2 years ago, seems they are at least trying now, where in the past their idea of "Sharp" was nowhere close....

At least now they are capable of cutting hair, maybe not to what many of us have set the "Shave Ready" bar to be, but at least in the ballpark
