Here ya go tintin. Brand new------> https://www.lehmans.com/product/alad...-iii-oil-lamp/

It has the new Max-Brite burner which is every bit the equal of Roy's vintage Model B.

Like Benz said the new Aladdin's are nice.

I'm liking the Aladdin's for several reasons. The nostalgia of using something that my grandparents could easily have used, the fact that they are quiet, that they will run for around 8-10 hours on a filling without having to be messed with and they look great!

They do have a bit of a learning curve and parts can be a bit pricey and kerosene isn't found everywhere.

The Coleman White Gas Lanterns are a also a good choice. There is also their propane lanterns. Fuel for both are everywhere, even the local convenience stores carry the gallon cans of gas and the propane bottles. You can also get an adapter and stand to hook the propane lamps up to a large tank like from your BBQ.

The disadvantages with the gas ones is that you have to keep pumping them to keep the pressure up so you get the bright light and they make a hissing sound and the tank filling don't last as long.

I have a double mantle white gas that I've used for well over 30 years and it's still going strong. Like the Aladdin's you need to have extra mantles and of course fuel on hand. My grandfather stored his Coleman in the cardboard box it came in and the mantles were under the lanterns so-----there's a total of 8 extra mantles there.

My backup source for cooking without electricity is my 2 burner Coleman propane stove with the adapter to the large tank/however it will run on just the small green bottles.

I hope this has been of some help.

I have 6 of those Colemans, Roy. One burns kerosene so you have to fill a little cup with a little 'pitcher' with a curved spout and put some alchohol in, light it until the generator warms sufficiently to fire the kerosene!

Sorry the thing got broken. I can imagine shipping the things takes lots of prep.
Maybe the seller will let you keep it. I see lots of the reservoirs for sale that that burner will fit.

I am pissed at the PO myself. 3 mantles for mine have been 'out for delivery' for 3 days!

I hope you ordered a wick or two also-----

Does your kerosene powered lantern look different from the gas ones? If so--perhaps a pic or two

Normally I'm very pleased with the service I get from the USPS however I sent a small padded envelope to Germany and it's taken 7 days just to get it on a plane headed out of the USA!

Yea I'm hoping that the seller says just to keep what's left and refunds me the purchase price and the shipping 100%

Looking at my wick vs pics of new ones, mine has tons of life left.
Figure to get another for a spare when some more money flows.
Lehmans said they were out of stock on the mantles, but an ebay seller had them for a few cents less and free-ship.

Think I will clean mine up a bit and go with it. If I was to polish the brass, I would have to maintain it!
    Too much to maintain already!

My favorite mantle lamp is a Coleman duel fuel that along with white gas will also burn unleaded gasoline. Which from my understanding is a little less filtered so the orifices have to be bigger. They burn a little more fuel per hour but in the long run much cheaper.

One time on the way to fishing I didn't know if I had any gas in the lamp. This was a few years ago when gas was very high. My truck was full but I pulled into a station and filled my lantern. 20 cents USD or so and when I went in to pay the attendant freaked out that I had cheated the pump and it should be $25.

She was very upset but I got change from my quarter!

Here is the kerosene Coleman. Different!
you snake the little spout in and fill the reservoir with alcohol, Stick a match in and light it. That gets the generator hot enough to work with the kerosene.
Dusty. Gonna clean it up and bring it inside.

I have several of the double-mantle ones in the attic along with a nice red single mantle I bought new as a kid.

Sadly, I understand they don't allow them in national parks anymore.
    Likely because of some idiots.
