Thats a good thing, are many ways to get a BBS or DFS.I really do not enjoy shaving,is a chore for me.I do love the sport tho.
For me finding the most expeditious way to get a shave that lasts two days was of great import,I can do that, but it took awhile to get it figured out.

The old adage walk before you run is fantastic but in the real world as circumstance would have it, its the other way around much of the time at least I know I didn't come into this world with a silver spoon in my mouth.

Shaving with a straight razor is not rocket science as many would have us newbies believe. In fact the process is quite simple hence my upset at the ATG pass. No worries though there are plenty of other USEFUL sources on the web. PEACE.
With all respect to this response your the one slicing your face off, the people giving the advice have already felt your pain. In regards to the "6-8 months" it's silly to put a time frame on it, it's when your ready..... And based in what you said in your first post you are far from ready. IMo if you ask for an opinion, I wouldn't just te responses rather I would comply objectively. Of course YMMV. Take it easy and enjoy the learning expiriance!

WTF? I'm going to have to think about that one, because apparently, I'm not even aware I'm cutting my own face off. Learn to read.

I'm not certain one with your temperament should be in possession of such a sharp edged object, especially when your are holding a blade up to your neck. Hell, if you know it all then why ask. My 3 pass shaves doing just fine, has our advice helped yours? Any way good luck with your shaving journey, how ever long it lasts.

Holy Hanna, I have never had a shave last me two days. I don't have a heavy beard but I could do a shave twice a day, morning and night. How I wish though.

Will all the positive advice I've been receiving. I can now do a 3 pass shave and achieve BBS, save for a few areas really well, it will just take a little more time. It really was a lot to do with angle. And for those of you that think my attitude is bad let me fill you in on a little secret. For the purpose of this thread there are really two types of people those I like and those I don't like.

There are two types of criticism positive and negative and well yeah the negative does piss me off. I basically ask for help with technique and get attacked personally, not happening.
What negative ? Do you really think anyone offered you advice, whether it was relevant to your situation or not that was meant to be negative ? Gimmie a break.

OK so I wont say much owing to JimmyHAD I feel I owe the posters of the thread an apology. I'm sorry. Post #27 was probably inappropriate along with a few others. Thanks for all your feedback I wont be posting in this thread again.
