Default First Shave and Use of new Products

    Hi All

So being a newbie to old way of shaving this is what i have notice and bought. Before i start with the Straight Razor and stropping techniques, i started with the shaving brush, soap and lather building and later will move on to shaving with a Double Edge razor. Im also working on a tight budget, so i can only buy bit by bit. Here in South Africa it is difficult to find these products and the top class quality products and to make it more difficult is the prices of these products are expensive.

So here is what i got......

    Avon after balm
Vaya Smooth for shave burn, ingrow hairs eg.
    Mach 3 blades
Double edge blades (hard to find here, got it for a good price R11-$1 Pack of 5)
    Face cloth

Do you guys think the prices is decent or expensive????

Im planning to buy Murker Double Edge razor with Murker blades, and Nomad, Truefitt&Hill, Tabac shaving soap in a month time.

Here is what my lather looks like with the Col Conk soap after 5 min.....

Hey, welcome to the forum. Looks like you are well stocked and enjoying a good lather. The should help even with Mach III. Being in Gauteng you are at least near or in a big city where you can get those items. Those same item for me would be an internet order, so you are lucky there. The prices don't seem to bad either. Doing it bit by bit is not so bad either, you can work up to using a straight in a slow and steady fashion.
