Thread: Fifth shave completed, no razor burn

Hey guys, just wanted to give a progress update. I just completed my fifth shave this morning and I even did a full 3 passes. I was able to get my cheeks BBS and while I wasn't able to get any other area BBS those areas were good enough that I didn't have to use my electric to finish. My neck under my jaws has always been a difficult spot to get anywhere near smooth but this morning I got a small area really smooth. I've never had any part of my neck that smooth, ever, even with a cartridge. But, I didn't want to press my luck and try getting my whole neck that smooth because the first four shaves resulted in some pretty bad razor burn. I actually wanted to give up it was so bad. After reading every post on this forum about razor burn I could find, the one thing I was doing wrong was applying too much pressure. The other thing I figured out is the razor has to be almost flat going against the grain, at least for me. Otherwise my razor would get stuck and start pulling the hair resulting in me applying too much pressure which led to razor burn. Anyway, I'm a believer now that this is the best method to shave. Thanks to everyone for the great advice through out this site.

Yup, that's one of the most common mistakes.
