    Default 3 little breakthroughs!

    Hi all,

Best shave yet this morning! Tried 3 new things (all suggestions from elsewhere) and thought I'd share.
    1) Made the lather in a bowl rather than on my face. What a difference! Really smooth and creamy (TBS Maca Root cream). Followed the instructions in the wiki and used a few extra drops of water as I lathered up and I'm definitely not going back to face lathering.
    2) I've been lathering in stages up till now - face, then jawline and then neck - as I reach each stage. Today, did the same but I'd read 'rinse and relather' somewhere so I did. The extra water on my face just before putting the lather on made it much better.
    3) Successfully tried a second upward ATG stroke up my neck and to the edge of my jawline that has made a huge difference to the closeness of the shave in that area. I used my alternate hand for this upward stroke - left hand for right side of neck and vice versa. Seemed to work for me that way. It's the first time I feel that I've got the majority of the whiskers just under my jaw.

    Have a good weekend everyone!

Sounds like you are off to a good start on your weekend with the 3 breakthroughs. It really is the little things that add up to a good shave. I used to bowl lather with a scuttle but have switched to face lathering to simplify things. I can get just as good a lather either way and one of the soaps/creams I use regularly is TBS Maca Root. It is just a matter of technique so I wouldn't right off face lathering totally. For sure though use what works for you if you are getting the lather you want. There is no right or wrong way.
