Some can do that, my ogallala does this a lot, but just dip the tips of the brush in a bit of water, and give a few swirls on your face, that should bring it back to life. sometimes I will use a bit too much water at first on purpose, whip some up in the mug just to get it started a bit but not completely, then finish lathering on my face and go straight to shaving.

Not enough water is a common issue with soap performance as is very hot water. if you are still having issue after you add more water like Tiddle suggested then try decreasing the temperature. the third most common culprit is your water itself some water, usually well water has too many dissolved minerals to allow the soap to lather well. in which case filtered or bottled water should help.

That could be it. Just add a little bit of water and lather it into the soap. Should be all good!

What soap are you using? And how do you prepare it? It is highly likely that more water needs to be added as suggested above, or you could be using water too hot, also suggested above. Or maybe the soap is hard/different-to-lather?

Here's a video by Lynn that is helpful. Also, +1 with syslight and tiddle.

Yeah, I agree with syslight too. I find it's almost easier to use too little water with soap than with cream; it looks great after you've face lathered but it gets gluggy, esp in between lathering and stropping and between shaving sides of your face (I need to re-wet the brush and re-lather the soap on my left side after shaving my right side).

I too find cold water works well with some soaps; I'm yet to determine what TYPES of soaps, i.e. tallow based or other may not like hot water. Really icy cold water from the refrigerator is really nice on hot days and I find with my tallow based soap (Mike's Natural) lathers very nicely with the cold water.
