I have been straight razor shaving daily (may have missed 1 or 2 days) for between 3 and 4 weeks now. I had the good fortune to meet Lynn and he definately got me started on the right foot. He loaned me a 6/8 dovo best with black scales and a strop, set me up with brush and soap and gave some pointers. I also did a lot of reading here and youtube video watching as well as Lynns DVD (Great info there!). For any new guys wanting to get started I just wanted to say my first week was fun. I didnt cut my nose, ears, or any other major or minor body part off. In fact to this point (knock on wood) I have only experienced the occasional minor weaper. After that first shave, I was hooked and ordered my own 6/8 dovo best with blonde scales from SRD, some more soap to try and a 3" strop. The 3rd week I ordered a 5/8 Dovo Astrale with ebony scales. (Love the look and shave of this razor!) That is what I used tonight and got a very nice shave . Looking forward to continuing this journey.
