Default first good shave ans a strop question

finally! first shave today with zero cuts or razor burn! its been about three weeks of trying and about five hours of reading on this site. ive been trying several different recipes as it pertains to pre shave, lather, post shave and think i found a good one. today i stropped between first shave and clean up, wow what a difference! i do have a question. after reading a lot about razor up keep i believe i need to get a fine hone or strop paste. I think for ease and cost i will go with the paste. after reading the posts about it I'm still a bit unclear on the type of Dovo paste that is used for a finishing paste. does anyone have a great routine they do to maintain the edge also any quick tips on doing this. thank you

I don't use pastes although most here do. I'd recommend a Naniwa SS 12K stone for touch-ups. That and your apparently competent stropping should keep you good for months, maybe years.

I'm just waiting on a coticule arriving to use for touching up the edge when the strop won't do anymore. Will be using it with just water, no slurry.
