...when you get the lather, angle, pressure, and grip right. Today I had my best straight razor shave yet. 3 Passes and a couple very minor nicks and hardly any razor burn. I even tried a little scything action for kicks! My stropping was great and I didn't get even a microscopic nick on the strop. I just wanted to share that and thank the SRP forum members for all their contributions that have allowed me to get this point.

Good on ya! You mentioned pressure though.. I wouldn't recommend applying any pressure other than the weight of the blade while shaving. Where are you getting your nicks?? I solved my issue with a guillotine stroke on my chin to stop cutting myself.

I should have said the lack of pressure. The hardest areas for me are my chin, the area under the jawline and the mustache. I have a tougher time on the left side of my face (using the left hand). I think getting creative with stretching the skin will help a lot.

These spots are the hardest for everyone. I've been shaving for 9 months approx and still have a tough time with those spots, depending on the day.

That's the way, Woppa! Outside this bunch, people would think we're nuts (they may be quite right). I still feel like posting when I have a particularly good shave. 'Just makes for a good day. Keep it up!
