    Default Hello Everyone

I just wanted to say hi to everyone here and I might have found a new hobby besides shaving.

Good Morning all! Succesfully shaved for the first time lastnight. I am hooked! My only complaint so far, is waiting for the beard to grow so I can keep on practicing. Wish I would have started years ago.

Welcome to the most friendly, helpful and informative site on the web!

I find that shaving with and maintaining a straight razor a way of life or a lifestyle. Collecting razors, strops, hones etc are a hobby. I know that I am in the minority about the term 'hobby' but that's just the way I look at it.

Before I found the joys of shaving with a straight I never shaved on a day off, on vacation I always grew a beard. In the three years or so that I've been using a straight, I've missed three days of shaving due to being on a camping trip and what few times I haven't used a straight I've used a DE.

Welcome to a whole new world!

I thank you for serving! My only son goes to Marine Boot Camp this coming March.

    Welcome

Try searching for dwarf razors here on srp, to start your education. Also look on ebay for straights that seem to be to short for their scales. They are usually broken and "repaired", be careful to ask a lot of questions. Personally I don't think that a shorty would save space while traveling.
