Well I was thinking about my first go of a straight razor all day today. Mainly where I went wrong and decided I would have another go tonight.

The wife had other ideas and I got a slap on the hand when I picked up the dovo as its not my birthday until next week.

Not one to be defeated I took the Genco Henry's XXX I've been cleaning up and onto my grandads old hones it went.

Got through the hanging hair test and then to the bathroom.

I started with trying to be ambidextrous but only managed sideburn to jaw line on the left. Rest of the face done with one hand.

A couple of little nicks and a struggle with the sides of the lip but got there. The neck is surprisingly ok today with only one nick.

I'm sending all 3 off to be properly honed as, although shave sharp, both the dovo and Genco pulled a little. As for the Harrison Bros & Howson blade, I couldn't seem to set the bevel. It has a thick spine and is a slim blade.

All in all I'm quite pleased I still have a face, it's not as smooth as I expected but its still there.

I'm just a baldy now!
