Thread: It's Always The Simple Things...

Sunday night is my favorite night as that is the first shave of the week AND when I switch razors for the week... Tonight was a Hnckels a little over 9/16 which is a bit small for me hut this one has green pearlex scales and is a vintage blade but just cleaned up beautifully... So, I do my standard face prep, put on a nice lather, set the brush down and grab my razor and do my first pull... SsCcRrAaTtCcHh... Huh, that was a little rougher than I remember it being last time I used this razor... So, I start thinking about my bevel set and my honing pyramid... All good there... Strop series starting on balsa with diamond spray on to CroX pasted felt then three different leathers... Definitely good there... So then I start to catastrophize thinking there is some rare form of metal degradation inherent to this particular razor which turns into a lot of "What if?!"'s and "What then?!"'s when all of a sudden I remember...

I was so stoked about my week's new razor and shaving that I pulled it from storage and began to shave without stropping first. Doh!?!?!
