Default Practice for hard to get to places

I've been at this for a month now and am pleased with the shaves I'm getting except for one spot I keep missing. That would be my neck, low, under my ear. So after some thought I decided to try different razor holds and techniques for shaving that area. Eventually I settled on inverting the razor so I am holding it as though I am "shaving" with the spine with the edge up. Had to keep remembering to be very wary of where that edge was but, it simulated the grip, position of the handle and allowed me to try some different ways to get to it. I tried that yesterday and was pleased with the results this AM. Anyone else try that? What is your approach to those "tough to reach" areas? BTW, tried adding glycerine, 4 drops, to my mug this AM and was very pleased with the lather. For $5 at CVS, a pretty good deal, as suggested on another thread here at SRP. Great site!

I would sooner tape the edge of a blade and practice with that, than try what you did. However, it sounds like it worked, so that's great.

I too have some hard to get spots. Every shave I experiment with a different way to get them. I've had a few successes, but am still chasing down two such spots.

I also have a difficult spot in the same area, on my neck, under my ear. I however have never been able to get this spot sufficiently smooth. Even with cartridge razors and DEs. I've tried pretty much every angle of attack and even back and forth motions. I think I'm just destined to have a small rough patch right there. No stubble shows, just feels rough.
