    Default Newby asking questions...

    Hi guys,

I'm new on this forum, and am after a little bit of advice

It's my partners 30th birthday later in the year and I wanted to get him something special to keep as a memento. He's really into his straight razors, soaps, etc, and ideally I would like to get him a nice decent old/antique(ish) straight razor.

He has an old Wester Bros Anchor Brand razor, as well as a Wade and Butchers, and one from Fred Broeker. I am just wondering whether anyone has any ideas on a decent brand/razor to be initially looking into, based on these current ones in his collection?

    Many thanks in advance

Welcome to SRP. You might try checking out the classifieds here, there are some quality razors listed for decent prices. If you're looking to buy new, then check with some of the vendors on this site. As for razors to avoid, my best advice is to look in the "Library/Wiki" of this forum, there is a whole list of razor manufacturers to avoid. Hope this helps.
