    Default Acne from Shaving

So I've recently gotten more acne since I've started straight shaving. I use the parker shavette. I typically shave 1 pass wtg and then atg (still learning how to do atg). Ive been using everymanjack aftershave lotion afterwards. Does anyone know what could cause the pimples? Is it improper shaving technique, shaving atg, the aftershave clogging my pores, or something else? Is there any special things I can do during my shave to help prevent acne?

Im not sure..it would make sense if you were using a real straight..no protective bar..and they cut much closer to the base of the skin..but that's temporary..like a week maybe 2 and goes away...try a good pre shave..DR Harris works very well..let set 5 minutes before lathering up..try an aftershave without alcohol like which hazel afteshave

There may be no cause/effect relationship here just coincidence. If you think the shaving is spreading the infection try and alum block after the shave as it is a very effective disinfectant.
    YMMV

Acne is usually caused from within. I don't see why shaving would cause it. Certainly a blade could lacerate the eruptions but I doubt it's making it worse. Something else is going on. maybe some irritation from shave soap or Aftershave making it worse?
