Red face Shave 15: I've now paid for my new hobby in blood! Woohoo!

So... got my fist nick today. A little one right under my lower lip that bled a lot, though it was small. I knew it happened right away, which is good, but unexpected. Felt like a very fast paper cut with lemon juice already in it.

I wasn't exactly being careless, so much as trying to figure out the best way to shave my chin... I usually have a goatee that I've whittled down to just a mustache as I try to learn this tool.

Hint: Do no try to shave your chin sideways. Or at least, not if you are me!

Here's my evidence of earning a stripe:

Okay, no idea why this uploaded upside-down. Hopefully it will correct itself when I click save.

    Cheers!

Um so... not, it didn't right itself. No idea why. That's weird. The image is correct on my computer. Hmmm.

Shaving with str8 good blood bad. Chin looks like it got a close shave really close.

    It just keeps getting better.

You did well to spill no blood for 15 shaves.
    Welcome to straight razor shaving.

My suggestion for shaving the chin in that area
Try shaving diagonally instead of side to side across the chin

Use an angle between 30 and 45 degrees and see if that helps to clean up this area.
Also try to lighten up on the pressure with the blade on your face
If the edge is really sharp the extra pressure will cause the razor to nick your face before you know it

My 2 cents for what it's worth
    Rick

Just use some vaseline on it. Stops the bleeding and keeps it supple, thus preventing scarring.

I believe the problem is your chin is upside down. It'd be much easier to shave right side up

15 shaves without blood at the start? I'd take it.
