    Default First Shave!!

Woot! I shaved for the first time with my straight razor. I started slow, and did just my right sideburn with my right hand like was recommended to me, and was very comfortable with it, so I did my left side with my left hand too. Ended up being able to shave my whole face, and only nicked myself once. (it was about as bad as a papercut, stung but didn't bleed barely at all.) Overall I found the whole experience very relaxing and enjoyable. I can't wait to do it again.

Glad you had a great first shave!

Congratulations! If you found the first shave to be both relaxing and enjoyable, I think you're probably in it for the long haul.

You are off to a great start, it should only get better. Any bets that you will have more than one razor soon?

Thanks all! @BobH, I bought my first razor off of a guy on the classifieds on here, and he was kind enough to throw in one of his older ones too, so I currently have two, but I'm practicing with my 5/8 before I even try using the other one. (that one is pretty light, a 4/8, and I feel safer with the heavy one) But I will probably get the bug and start buying more soon too lol. I've already been looking around on ebay and stuff, but not too seriously because I'm "a poor college student who has to spend his money wisely" according to my parents.
