Thread: First real shave

Hello all, I finally got all my equipment together and this morning had my first real shave. It went fairly well, but got a few nicks as expected. The hardest part I found was on the front of the chin and upper lip, which I didnt end up getting a very close shave in the end in these areas. Just a practical question, what is the easiest way to get the shaving cream off the blade? Running water or splash it around in the sink or something else..?

Moving the razor under the faucet=knocking the edge off the razor. Done it. Same is likely with swishing in sink bowl. Wiping on towel safer.

Welcome. It just keeps getting better.

I usually wipe the lather of with the palm of my hand(like palm stropping) then I wipe my hand on a kitchen towel that I keep tucked in my boxers.

invest in a high faucet... i have used running water for decades to no ill effect. but i did worry about the basin and faucet before i upgraded now there is plenty of room under the faucet and away form the basin.
