    Welcome.
May I suggest you find a place where you can get an experienced barber to give you a straight razor shave, see how it feels on your face and then decide if this hobby is for you.
I got started after a shave and AOS while on vacation in Vegas a few years back, I have not looked back since.

For your first razor, stay away from eBay, flea markets and antiques stores until you learn something about razors. I recommend that you get a razor off of these classified ads even though they seem expensive or buy new from a known dealer. I've been burned too many times with warped, frowned and pitted razors. It's always cheaper to buy from a known source I've found. You will have fun and go slow!

I guess this is one of those YMMV moments. For me, and maybe I'm the only one ever, but every time I have switched between blade and electric or vice versa I have gone through a period of ingrown and near ingrown whiskers with the associated red bumps and discomfort. I've found that if I stick with the new medium, which ever it is, it always has cleared up within 10 days to two weeks and does not recur unless I change back again. From one type of blade to another type has been no problem. It's just between blade and electric or vice versa. I guess it's the difference in the way they stretch and cut the whisker. Just in case it should happen to you I thought I'd let you know it's not permanent, at least it hasn't been for me. Good Luck and Good Shaves!

    Regards,

    Howard

As I know they have few shipping worldwide for any order over $100, I'm waiting Monday to make my first order from them, I want to make some shelfs in the bathroom and need to know razor stands dimension first
