Default My first str8 shave is in the books!

I did it boys! I just finished my first str8 shave! I'm not a virgin anymore! I followed the information on this site to the best of my ability, and it served me well. I shaved only my sideburn and cheek areas on both sides (Yeah I know it's more than is recommended, but I was having so much fun!). I even used my non-dominant hand. My shave was with my new Dovo 6/8 half hollow from SRD. I finished with my Merkur Progress. I'm sure I will be finishing with my DE for a while...slow and steady! Thanks so much to all of you whom I learned from, I'm hooked!

    Great stuff!
You seem to approach this in just the right way.
Keep it up, you'll be sporting the very best of shaves pretty darn soon

I should have found SRP before I started str8 shaving. My first was horrible: I did not soak my beard to make it softer, shaved everything, and used both hands. Afterwards I looked like I had gotten into a fight with a puma.

Congrats ! You did your research before you tried to shave , and were rewarded with a great 1st straight razor shave . All too often I read about , not so great , first shaves . Usually done by noob's , with little or no research beforehand , and using razors that may not be quite sharp enough . It's nice when I read about one that went well .

Thanks guys, I'm supper happy the first one went well. It was thanks to all of you, and your knowledge that you so graciously passed on. I'm sure I have a nic or three coming my way, but I will keep it slow. I only wish my whiskers would grow faster, I'm ready for shave two!
P.S. My avatar isn't half as hot as my sexy nurse wife!
