    Default Clarification needed: shave tested

Seems like a silly question, but since everything means something different to everybody, what does "shave tested" mean?

See it here, on that eBay thing, and on private restorers' sites. Just want to manage my perceptions.

    Thanks

It means that the razor was honed and then tested by taking the blade to the face. Really the only test that matters. A razor can pass a HHT and not be comfortable. To pass a shave teat, the razor has to be both sharp and smooth/comfortable.

With eBay, you never know!! Here and with the SRP Vendors and I assume with the classifieds, it means they have test shaved it after honing, etc..

I guess my confusion is when imaging the, I assume, very busy honemeisters who must prepare at least a handful of shave ready and shave tested razors a day.

    That's a lot of shaving...

well you wouldn't have to do the entire shave to shave test it. I imagine one shave could use many razors...

    jeffegg2 is right.....

When I shave test, I test two different patches, one on my cheek and one on my neck. I can shave test 4 razors at a time....that's what I'm comfortable with......

I've often wondered the same thing myself. Do they shave a 1" square patch per razor?

I'd like to say that I was being witty, what with the OP's name and all.

When I'm getting some ready for the classified, I do run out of raw material fairly fast and it will take me a few days to test. I could probably do four/day and that would be pushing it for shave tests.
