Default Not sure what I did, but I hope I can repeat it!!

Been shaving with a Dovo Bismark now for about 7 months.

My normal honing/stroping routine has been this:

Daily - 30 Laps Leather Strop
Weekly - 40 Laps Pasted (Chromium) Linen / 40 Laps Leather.
Monthly - Quick touchup on a coticule.

So far I have only actually honed the razor twice on a 1k then a 5k then the coticule just to bring the edge back.

Usually by the time I get to my monthly touchup the blade really needs it!! It's no longer a super comfortable shave, but not terribly uncomfortable. What I can't figure out, is that I've been shaving with the razor now for almost 2 months, and with just my regular stropping regime it is STILL shaving awesome and still passing the HHT.

I'm not sure what I did correctly the last time I was on the coticule, but I'm almost scared to have to do it again and not get an edge this good.

Hopefully it's a good sign of natural progression of honing/stropping skill.....I'll let you know after I touch the stone again.

    Here's hoping!

I think a properly honed razor's edge should last some time. Of course, this depends on the razor itself.

I have razors that have not seen a hone in about a year.
