    For a good cheap razor to learn on I'd strongly suggest the classifieds here, or one of the vendors like Larry at whippeddog.com instead of throwing away $5 you can invest $20-40 in a good (if not pretty) razor with which you can learn to strop, shave, hone, etc. as you wish without defiling a $64 investment.

    @Normbal: Loved the story.

    Peace,

    Thanks, Jim. I'm here through the season, two shows on Friday. Try the veal.

    well it's wasn't for auction, it only had a "buy now" option
    and originally it was for ~15$ more. I figured it's a good price, cause I didn't see any other's as good as this one and for much price, and this one is also a great looking. I know it's not the prerequisite for the first razor, but I just couldn't resist

    The shave was great. Razor was very sharp and extremely beautiful.
    But I had some money problems and unfortunately had to sell them both. Now I hope to find other razor of such quality and beauty for similar price Not much luck with this yet...

    Its a beautiful razor, since its German I'd say your getting a very functional blade. I'd be proud to own it myself.
