I'll make the time before I'd ever go back to using one of "those"

I just finished reading all the post in this thread.
Let me just say this. I feel good to belong to a group that can openly discuss for something of this nature in such a manor the most part that leave every one feeling good about what they post.
I see both side of this thread equally. But I am on the SR side of things. This is my hobby. It is a way for me to practice skills that I have learned when I was a butcher and in the military (honing and sharpening blades).
I have used Electric Shavers, disposable and higher priced cartridge shavers like the MACH 3 and others. And by far my SR is the best for me.
I have created a daily routine in the evening where I now make time for my self and I can relax. Which, I did not due before. I have now found myself getting further and further in to the history and restoration of SR’s. THI IS NOW MY HOBBY.

I use only a straight now. I think two times I went back and tried my DE and not any more. I find safety razors a painful and uncomfortable experience. It only takes me 10 to 15 minutes to get a great straight shave. I spend more time than that on the crapper.....

Sorry, until I am too old to shave myself it will be a straight.

Try a Schick. I use them when I'm traveling on business as I'm too busy and don't want to bother using a straight. I like the Schicks better than the Gillettes.

Confession time. I just like shaving with straights, and I'll take a straight on my face above a Mach 3 any day of the week - this might sound girly, but the straight is way easier on my skin. I also shave my head, and even there, the straight does a better job - but only going front to back. The other way around, I have to fall back on the Mach 3, and it works well! Finally, I sometimes touch up and trim around the, uh, intimate zone, and refuse to put a straight anywhere near it! This is where the Mach 3 does its very best work...!

    It's like this:

If you just want to skate through life using minimal effort and want to just "get by" while not bursting any brain cells learning anything new, then no, Straight razor shaving is probably not for you.

Modern Mach IV shaving and cream in a can is perfect for someone like that....

I think it is giving up on a great shaving experience, but it is what it is.... Not for "everyone".
