Thread: Chromium Oxide and Balsa Question

This is probably a dumb question and I'm pretty sure I know the answer but when it comes to a sharp blade and my neck, I don't want to make any assumptions. When using a balsa and chromium oxide strop, which is the leading edge, spine, as in stropping or blade as in honing? I'm thinking spine as in stropping but, like I said, no assumptions. Thanks.

It's called a pasted _strop_, not a pasted _hone_. So a stropping motion - spine leading -- is correct.

Pushing forward -- toward the edge -- will probably dig the edge into the balsa. [I've never tried it, though.]
