    Default A little clarification please?

I read a post by "oldschooltools" that said the quote below.

"Post use blade dipping solution. Hydrophobic and anti-rust with a quick dip. Solution suggested was 100% IPA and Camillia oil. I use 91% IPA rubbing alcohol (drug store available) with a few drops of CLP (already on hand for gun storage). Very efficient!

Superlather with liquified lanolin. Absolutely the best! My favorite is Tabac with 3 drops of liquified Lanisoh. It is almost impossible to nick myself with this on my face. I can buff away 'til my heart's content with no irritation."

My ?'s are: 1) What is CLP and where can I get some?
    2) Where can I get the stuff for your killer lather mentioned above?
    Thanks to all who help

I did a little internet surfing and I discovered the site below, it appears CLP is a company product acronym for ‘Cleans, Lubricates, Protects’ and is mainly used to protect firearms or perhaps your razor as well.

    Otis Technology

I also found a few sites selling Liquid Lanolin and lansinoh (even websites from my country New Zealand) so it can’t be that difficult to find and purchase, perhaps even inquire at a few pharmacies.

I purchased a small bottle of glycerin at a pharmacy and they poured it into that small bottle for me from a 4 litre bottle and that whips up a good lather too if you combined it with a cream and/or a soap.

I used to use glyserin for the Uber foam stuff, its cheap from any pharmacy, and you only need a small amount try 1 drop at a time.

I am no expert, but is the liquefied lanolin the stuff used for nursing mothers? My wife used the Lansinoh brand herself and I was wondering about trying some in my lathers. One can find it in the baby sections of the grocery stores.

My wife has the lansinoh brand stuff around. It's relatively thick, definitely not a liquid. It's thicker than say, Nivea asb. Slightly thicker than gold bond lotion. However, when a bit is put in to a warm bowl it doesn't inhibit lathering. I've tried it with a few soaps and it definitely increases cushion. I like MB soaps but while they're thick and provide great lubricity and moisturization they seem to be lacking in cushion. IME, the lanolin helps but as always, ymmv.
If anyone is interested, pm me and I can put a bit in a small zip bag and send it your way to try.

That is very nice of you.... I was thinking about doing that exact thing with the next glycerin soap I try (most likely something from Mama Bear). How much have you been using per shave? I will pass on the PIF for now as I recently bought some MWF and will need to get through that before trying another soap.

That MWF should last a while. The amount of lanolin I've used is equivalent to a dried sugar snap pea... If that helps... A shmear somewhere between 1/8th & 1/4" in diameter.
