Chet Baker is great. I am glad you can listen to music and shave at the same time.

As a professional musician, I am unable to have music on while I do something else. The music demands that I give it full attention. Some of my friends and relatives don't really understand and think I am a little weird or possibly cursed. Fortunately, my wife does understand. Also as a composer, my mind is often creating new music and I have a hard time shutting it off. A couple of times I have had to leave a concert because the concert music was interfering with music in my head that was demanding to be set down on paper.

SO WHEN I SHAVE, I LIKE TOTAL SILENCE. I go into a Zen-like meditative state and enter an alternate universe. There is just a shiny, sharp blade and my face. It is the closest I come to having absolute stillness in my body, mind, and soul. When I enter this state, I am completely unconscious of having any thought while I shave; time stands still. [I go into my "nothing" box when I shave. LOL.]

I find this meditative state very fulfilling and refreshing each morning. Of course, there are those days when my wife turns on the radio or the cat meows and scratches to be let in my vanity area and I am SHOCKINGLY brought back into the present.

    Happy Shaving!

I tried to listen to music while I shaved but I kept severing the earplug cables on my MP3 player...

Can you finish in 4:13 though? You might need more than one song.

I'm planning to use background music as well (ordering my razor later this week), just part of relaxing and enjoying the whole process. Haven't picked up anything in particular yet, I was probably going to set up a channel w/ Pandora on my iPhone seeded with the right sort of music and just let it discover songs for me.
