i bumped my straight on the mirror. Thank god it was with the scales and not with the edge.
Result my first cut in my face.
but rather have a cut in my face then a chip in my SR. How do you gents solve this problem? contact lenzes or a magnifying mirror or???

I wear my glasses - problem solved. Fortunately for me, my glasses don't cover any areas that need to be shaved.

I wear my contact lenses almost throughout the day..afternoon or morning til evening also when I go to the gym..sometimes wearing glasses when shaving makes me not see certain angles or hesitate if I cant see the "big picture" in the mirror

At this point I shave almost entirely by feel. No need to wear my glasses or contacts.

Maybe you should use a pince-nez while you are shaving?

I shave without my glasses. I found they were in the way more than they helped, especially since my vision isn't much better with them on (my right eye is about 20/180 with glasses).

I did the exact same thing about 6 months ago...took a huge gash out of my cheek - about 3/4" by 1/2". I've since learned to trust the feel of the razor on my skin a lot more than my lousy eyesight. I could probably shave with my eyes closed at this point.

Been there, done that too. Without my glasses I couldn't see well enough to even pick up the SR!! :-)

I wear contacts, but even if I don't wear them I can still shave easily enough by feel. Took about 3 months of only shaving with a straight to be comfortable enough to go by feel.

I have bumped the mirror with the end of the scales many times in my 3 weeks of straight shaving and to my amazement the razor has not yet stuck into my face, but I think this is purely just luck and I dread the day luck is not on my side.
