Thread: Had to shave with my Merkur Vision DE today.....

I didn't have enough time for a proper straight shave. And, I haven't shaven with my DE in about a month. I was blown away! There is no comparison in terms of closeness and/or comfort of the shave! I used the same preparation and stokes with the DE as with my straight. My straight razor without a doubt gives the best shave of any razor I've ever used! No surprise to many, I'm sure! I'm just shocked that in only a month and a half of straight shaving my technique and results are this far beyond the next best alternative. Think of what it will be like in a year!

Yeah, but think about it this way: if you're in a hurry and can't do all that "other stuff" than you can't get the shave you've grown accustomed to. You've spoiled yourself. Now you're compulsively faceturbating away, fretting over how quickly you can feel the stubble growing back in less time. There should be a support group for people who've ruined themselves from their straight shaving habit.

I can’t wait until my technique improves to allow me to perform this.

I have shaved about 5 times so far in consecutive days with my new straight but every time I have to tidy it all up with my DE that gives me a super close shave as I have not been able to get any sort of closeness yet with the straight. I think it is close until I go over my face with my fingers and it is very rough as if I have at least 12 hours growth and this is after many passes in different directions.

Well hopefully in a month or about 25 more shaves I will be able to claim the same.
