    Default Initiation by blood

Today was my second straight razor shave, and the first time I nicked myself! I moved my chin a bit as I was shaving and gave myself a slice about 1cm long. No big deal, held the slice closed and it stopped bleeding after a few minutes. I'm shaving with a Wacker "Special Razor" which I chose after handling about 50 different models from Dovo, Puma, Zwilling, Boker and Wacker. The weight was perfect, the balance amazing and it fit my huge hands. I'm loving this new shaving method... even if it takes a bit longer than the old disposables.

Good to hear! I must say I'm a bit jealous that you're capable of being so close to such works of art. Those are truly magnificent razors, my friend.

I do need to get my hands on a Puma razor, one of these days.

Its a really good thing I don't live near Wacker. I'd be homeless on the street, pushing a shopping cart full of razors. I particularly note you comment about large hands. That's my case also, and I find myself drawn to the razors with some thickness (and some height) to the shank, and some weight in the spine. They're much easier to hold and articulate with precision. You started out with an exceptional razor. I recommend NOT trying the Wacker 1/4 grind, or we'll see you on the street pushing a cart. If you were closer, you could try mine.

I totally agree. A nice heavy quarter ground is heaven.
