Well I hope at least one of the people that ran over that bag got a flat tire. You have to get some satisfaction.

Default It can't rain everyday right???

After reading all the replies, I have to say you can't beat a lifestyle and community like this one.. I also liked reading the words of encouragement... After getting off of the computer last night from doing extensive searches for a replacement to get started shaving again (my beard and head are quite grizzly.. it's been a little while since I have shaved).. I think I finished off the final stages of grief.. I am like a few of you guys where yes i am horrifically mad, but you have to ask yourself what is more important.. In almost all aspects I have a very understanding and supportive wife.. and to be honest she really didn't understand the expense and time that went into my straights.... of course me talking about straights to her is like off the episode of scrubs when the women would start talking about shoes and the guys would fade off and tune them out.. Of course I am more of Dr Cox Type but I don't think screaming out "SILK PANTIES" would bring her back.. Oh I have digressed..... Anyway I went back to my cave and looked at the pieces in the box and as much as I wanted to lust JB weld, duct tape, and glue everything together.. I just had to let it go.. ALTHOUGH.. I took a good look at the yellow ornate scales and they were actually repairable!... So I took the rest of the pieces and not kidding buried them in a ziplock with desiccant under the house.. kinda like a time capsule I guess... But I took the ornate scales and worked on them... they were actually only split at the area where a wedge would normally be.. so I figured flatten them out and I would just make a wedge to go with it.. buffed it all out and tada...

So I wake up this morning and on my night stand was a card (I am sorry for your loss hahahah kinda made me laugh) another card saying I love you.. a cup of coffee and a fresh homemade (hers are like cinnabon) cinnamon roll.. So I called her at work and she said she was sorry.. and that she should have made sure that my stuff was safe.. Heheheh there were a few mentions of guilt trip.. and the ticket for a christmas gift.. Well she said that if I wanted to I could replace the ones that were expensive if I wanted to.. (as nice as that sounds the only way this could be done is if she worked over time a lot and I just don't see the point in that because then we wouldn't be able to have family time).. So I told her no worries.. We will work towards replacing those, and I will just find a decent shaver for my face and a wedge for my head..

Yea I could have blown up.. and made a huge deal out of it.. but I gave up that temper when I finished pushing boots in the Navy.. It's kinda like going ballistic when your 16 month old breaks your favorite coffee cup just because he was excited that he drank from Daddy's bigboy cup and dropped it by accident.. Heh.. yea that's what happened with me.. but in the end you just grit your teeth, smile and give him a hug for overcoming such an obstacle as drinking from something other than a sippycup.. and be glad that you have wonderful family that tolerates your eccentricities.. (of course clean up the mess though ahahah)

I honestly appreciate the encouragements... Also the offer.. but I am just the type of person that I can't in good conscience just take something with out paying for it..

My wife did try though.. after she got off work (was at the spine doc all day) she went to a few antique shops looking for another W&B or a filarmonica.. unfortunately not many of those here....

No more need to smuggle stuff though.. it's all out in the open and I also get to make another one for myself an will be able to get it better too.. on the bright side my wife collects slag glass and wants to go hit the antique shops further out this weekend.. The only worry I have is finding a wedge.. the one i got was pure pure luck off of ebay...

    Default The house note..

I also want to thank those for the congrats on the house too.. It's an awesome house and after we looked at 6 of em and tried to sell each other on what we liked about the first ones.. we took one walk through and then turned to each other then said at the same time "I love it"..

1505 square feet.. a master bedroom the size of a living room.. with that great master bathroom too.. it appraised at something like 174K and we haggled it down to 110K.. Needed a little work but we have already done most of it.. and the next project is a patio... unfortunately the one it has is falling apart.. Next on the list.. Well that and getting my tools mounted for my shop..

Well, since I'm not getting a response I'll assume it didn't. I tried to link you to a Wade & Butcher full wedge I found on eBay. No scales but looked like it would be a good project piece that wouldn't need a huge amount of work to get "shave ready". I have no connection to the seller, it's just something I found and remembered this thread.

You are a good man. I feel humbled by reading this. We should all be lucky enough to have a good woman like yours. The fact that you've forgiven her so, shows not only your good character but the amout you love and respect this woman. If ever I find myself in a situation like yours, I hope to have the sound mind and good reason you have shown here. I truly hope you find your dream razor this weekend!

sorry to hear of your hardships. i had kind of a similar experience with less expensive razors. i bought a house and started moving things and found my razors with chipped blades and cracked scales. but on the down side i do not have sweet man cave space.
