Thread: A few months slashing... a retrospective

I just opened a package from SRD containing a new strop (pressed felt for paste) a couple shave soaps from Fitjar Saperkokeri and a nice Black Star

I pasted the strop lightly (the wool felt really likes to hold the paste) and ran my c-mon blackie over it a couple dozen times... shaving will have to wait until later.

The difference between the c-mon blackie (J.Micheal's/Dovo) and the Black Star are obvious out of the box, the blackie feels cheap with it's plastic scales... gonna have to find some ebony to fix that.

Oh ya 3 "vintage" blades found their way home as well... gonna need to find my way to acquire some restoration gear and hones. The scales are shot on 2 of them, one has a slight smile and one has a bit of a frown but...

Once I get closer to figuring out what I want to do with them I'll post some before pics and work from there.
