    I am a newbie to straight razor shaving. awaiting my Dovo Ivory Micarta Inox 5/8" Straight Razor Set from Straight Razor Designs and looking forward to learning a new skill. Any help would be appreciated. I am living in Decatur, Georgia.

    Hey Daryl,

    Welcome aboard. I've only been here days, just got my new Boker King Cutter, and shaved with it for the first time today!!!!

    I took Lynn's advice in the beginners section and only did the cheeks to start off. Worked great and only nicked myself 2 times!!!

    I'm luvin this. I bet you will too!!

    Hey Daryl-
    I'm pretty new too and like hammer did I followed Lynn's advice and starting shaving in sections v. tackling the whole face at once. That was kind of asking a lot from me due to my excitement with my new straight! It was for the best and having realistic expectations for myself has helped too. I know that (hopefully) after a while I will begin seeing increasing better results and patients is virtue. Best of luck!
